I Me Mine, Musings

The Year That Was: 2018

2018 dawned with no promises, no resolutions or no big plans; but what a year it has turned out to be. From deciding to be myself, taking steps to rekindle old friendships, forging new ones, decisions to get out and get living, it has been a roller-coaster ride. Reading and writing did take a backseat temporarily, though I do not regret i because hey I was busy living.

In terms of writing, I tried looking at life from a different perspective, while writing my heart out on how life has been and how it still might be affecting all the things I do and am. Love comes in various forms, at times it is cruel, at other times in the form of a gift.

While this year did see some adventures and travel opportunities, I am looking for more next year… also hopeful of crossing some items off my bucket-list. It is not all rosy when I look back, there are heartbreaks, injustice, cheating, hurt, death and separation – enough and more, but I choose to soak in the lessons the experiences taught me and choose to move forward. I have realized that I am stronger than I thought I was, and it has been such an eye opening experience.

How has this year been for you? What has been the greatest lesson 2018 has taught you?

Writing to me is therapy, it frightens and comforts at the same time. Liberates like nothing else. A book in my own name is a dream, but a bigger dream would be to write something that haunts the reader even after the last page is turned and the book is shut. I enjoy reading and music, spending time with family whilst battling my social awkwardness.
