Unwrap Christmas 2016
“So remember while December Brings the only Christmas day, In the year let there be Christmas in the things you do and say.”
– Anonymous
I love this quote and feel that it tells so much more than what is perceived in the first reading. To spread the cheer and good tidings of Christmas, a few of us bloggers have joined hands and are trying to UnWrap Christmas, blog by blog. I am grateful to Shinjini Mehrotra to has passed on the baton to me.
How has 2016 treated you? Are you happy with the things you have done? Have you achieved all that you planned for?
2016 has been a good year to me. December sneaked up on me when I wasn’t even looking. Like Einstein said, time flies when you are having fun. There were long and short trips throughout the year, strewn about at perfect intervals. I figured I lived a bit more this year or like someone keeps telling me, I made peace with myself. Whatever it is, I’m lovin’ it 🙂
What changed? I don’t think time changed, these things happened to me because I changed. Looking at things with gratitude is definitely helping me. Rather than complaining about work loads, I am grateful that my company thinks that I can handle the work. What took the back burner was my blog and my to-be-read list and this will hopefully be compensated in the next year. I am not one who takes new year resolutions, because, to turn over a new leaf, you do not need a new calendar. All it takes is just one moment. This moment.
“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.”
This Christmas, why not share our good fortune with the less fortunate children? Divya Disha is an independent association and work with and for children and young people regardless of their religion, caste, race, ethnicity or gender and are looking for raising funds for their activities. Let us pledge whatever small amount we can, to make their Christmas brighter this year.
Wishing you and family a very Merry Christmas !!

Hi Bhavya! I think you are so right when you say things don’t change, it’s we who change or perceive things differently. I am glad 2016 was a good year for you. Hope 2017 brings all you wish for and more. May the happy spirits be with you.
I am glad your year was good. Mine was a bumpy ride, much scarier and adventurous than the roller coaster 😉
I had a lot of work this month as well, but I had fun too. 🙂
Oh yay to that! My year was a roller coaster ride but I’m glad all is well in the end.
I’m sorry that I wasn’t regular to your space. But I will drop by frequently 🙂
Wish you a very Merry Christmas, dear Bhavya!

I agree Bhavya time flies when you are having a good time. And so important that you feel change is not external but internal. I know when I say that I became a better version of myself through change- I speak more of that that happened internal.
Thank you for signing up for Unwrap christmas- a yearly activity which has always been a part of my christmassy spirit.
A very merry christmas and a happy new year !
A small change in perspective makes such a big change in our lives, doesn’t it? I’m glad you had a lovely year…wish 2017 is wonderful too!
