He had always stood on the side-lines and watched her smile at the other boys and wave at them. His little heart always ached when he saw how friendly they all were with her and could not understand the reason for his loss of the ability to speak whenever they came face to face. There was a pain he could not define, a dull ache somewhere between the throat and the chest, erratic breathing, sweaty palms and such weird reactions from his body that he was embarrassed to go in front of her. There was something about that girl Swapna from 7-C of his school that made him all gawky.
It was then that he decided to do something about it and approached the cool dude of the class, Rohan. All the girls seemed to be attracted to him like houseflies to a ripe jack-fruit and he wanted to learn the tricks from the master himself. “You are like an open book. Dude, girls are attracted to you all the more when they don’t understand you. They want to come closer to you and decode you. That my friend, is the trick.â€
Thus the decision was made, that henceforth in order to woo Swapna he would be an enigma.
