If Only You Were Here,
I Would Have Tried Better,
To Make You See
That Life Is Beautiful
If Only You Were Here,
You Would Have Seen,
That Life Is Not Always Pain,
That For Every Sunset There Is A Brighter Sunrise;
If Only You Were Here,
You Would Have Loved,
The Life You Were Given,
The Family You Were Given;
If Only You Were Here,
You Would Have Understood,
What A Loser He Was,
Who Told You, You Weren’t Enough;
If Only You Were Here,
Life Would Have Been Better,
If Only You Were Here,
We Could’ve Been Happier!
(This poem based on the prompt by Kajal of Rainbow Hues over at WriteTribe. I’ve chosen to write about a friend who decided that she had enough out of life and committed suicide.)
This had a sad note to it. If only people would appreciate others when they are here and love them, then maybe the “if onlys” wouldn’t be tinged with regrets when they are gone. This was poignant and beautifully written! ♥
Kathy’s latest…If Only You Were Here….
That’s really sad. When one starts doubting the grace of the Almighty one loses all hope.
Very sad to hear about your friend.
It’s really sad to call it quit. If only you were here, the world would have been a better place.
Because when she left, she took away a piece of us….
Quite sad that your friend chose the end as her only alternative. Nice poignant poem paying tribute to her.
Jairam Mohan’s latest…If only you were here
Maybe she thought there was no other option left for her.
Thank you for the kind words
It is a sad note to a friend. Wish she could read this poem and hope she is happy wherever she is. She is watching over you.

Thank you for those kind words Vishal
Nicely Communicated. I am sorry your friend left too soon. I know (from experience) you’ll carry them in your heart always . . . so, they travel with us anyway . .
I am well, thank you – and you??? Are you well and happy?
sending you love,
-g-
That is the hope I carry in my heart.. That they will stay with us even if physically absent.
Loads of love G
Take Care
How sad and desperate must a person be to think of ending her life! Loved your poem.
Thank you
If you were alive you would have seen that loser… very true…she should have gathered courage to retaliate the cause of distress… nice poem

Don’t go missing again 🙂 🙂
This happens more often than we realise. Some quitting, and some planning to quit. I guess when self worth is measured in terms of someone else’s opinion, that’s when things get bad. Sad but well said.
Jyothi Nair’s latest…If only you were here
Exactly Jyothi… If only people would know their own worth and not listen to unnecessary talks by others who don’t even matter…
It’s tragic when we give more weight to other people’s opinions than to the truth about ourselves. So sorry for your loss, Bhavya.
Corinne Rodrigues’s latest…The 7 Practices Of Mindful Eating
Yes Corinne it is. But what has been done cannot be undone. I hope she is in a better place now. 🙂
Hi Bhavya,

Sreeja Praveen’s latest…If only you were here !
Sorry to learn about your friend Bhavya. Only if she could hold on!
Hold On! Hang On! Never Call it Quits! Are not just words, they’ve greater meaning in them and teaches us to persevere in all trials and tribulations. As you rightly said: For Every Sunset There Is A Brighter Sunrise.
Beautifully melancholic poem. Sorry for your loss.
