She fought a losing battle with cancer. A frail old bag of bones, Shar Pei skin, sunken eyes, she was an eye sore for the world. But not for him.
He had loved her with his whole being all these years. When she could still walk, they used to take long walks along the beach, enjoy the raindrops pitter pattering on the windowpane, read books together.
Now she was gone, but how could he desert her. His love for her was true and eternal.
As the ambulance took her away, Tiger ran to lick her face for the last time.
